The Center for West O‘ahu Welcomes Foodland Farms to The Grove at Ka Makana Ali'i

The newest store will offer popular Foodland favorites, exclusive prepared foods, an abundance of healthy options, curbside pickup or delivery, and Foodland’s first in-store restaurant

KAPOLEI, HI (July 14, 2020) — The Center for West O‘ahu announces the opening of Foodland Farms at The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i on Wednesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. The newest store will offer exciting food discoveries, exclusive grab-and-go and prepared foods, an abundance of healthy gluten-free, plant-based and vegan options, and Foodland’s first in-store restaurant, Mahi ‘ai Table. The 32,000-square-foot store will showcase fresh local products, new offerings and offer curbside pickup for West O‘ahu’s growing communities.

To ensure the safety of customers and employees, capacity within Foodland Farms will be limited. Customers can reserve a shopping time online at Foodland.com/opentable to skip the line to enter the store. Walk-ins will be allowed based on capacity. Everyone who enters the store will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing, staying six feet apart from others. In addition, customers may bring only one additional person with them to shop.

With Foodland To You delivery and curbside pickup, grocery shopping is made even easier. Customers can grocery shop online and the Foodland guest services team will have it ready for curbside pickup (available for free for orders of $30 or more). Customers must provide a two- hour minimum lead time and park in the dedicated parking stalls in front of Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i. Additionally, Foodland is able to hold groceries in a refrigerated area for shoppers exploring the Center or retrieving their car.

The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i currently features 24 Hour Fitness, Straub Medical Center Kapolei Clinic and Urgent Care, Sakura, PetSmart and Hawaii Family Dental, and is promoting healthy living in the West O‘ahu community. Foodland Farms will offer a diverse selection of natural and organic products and brands, stocked alongside an impressive range of Hawaii-grown, Hawaii-raised and Hawaii-made products and ingredients. The newest store features a wide selection of healthy options, including locally made grain-free granola and power bars, freshly made juices and wellness boosts, an ample selection of meat alternative and gluten-free products, keto and paleo-friendly foods, and a fresh Bowls station with made-to-order greens, grains and proteins bowls.

In addition to new mouthwatering grab-and-go items, Foodland Farms will also offer Take-and- Bake kits, Do-It-Yourself pizza kits, Calabash Meal Kits and Foodland’s collection of Chef Essentials, which include housemade marinades, dressings, stocks, broths, spice rubs, dips and vinaigrettes.

Exclusive to Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i will be Mahi ‘ai Table, an in-store, full-service restaurant and bar spotlighting a menu of mouthwatering local farm-to-table dishes featuring surprising flavor combinations and a lineup of inventive signature craft cocktails. In Hawaiian, mahi ‘ai means “farmer” or “farming.” And in celebration of Hawaii’s farming community Mahi ‘ai Table will be a place for family and friends to come together and experience the extraordinary flavors that can only come from using the freshest ingredients procured from local farms, such as Mari’s Table, Ho Farms and MA‘O Organic Farms. Mahi ‘ai Table will be open for lunch and dinner, and also offer fast-casual breakfast. Reservations will be recommended and given priority. A maximum of four guests per party will be allowed. Wellness checks, including touchless temperature reading, the wearing of masks until your initial order is delivered, and social distancing measures will be required.

Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i will also feature many popular Foodland favorites, including fresh fried chicken, Hawaii’s Best Poke, an abundance of fresh, local produce, pre-packed bulk foods, a variety of R. Field wine and specialty foods, full-service meat and seafood counters, and more! The store will have its very own HI Steaks location as well as a 900-square-foot indoor-outdoor lanai for customers to sit back, relax and enjoy their food.

Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i and Mahi ‘ai Table will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the last seating at 8 p.m. More exciting details will be announced in the weeks ahead.
